Cindy Walker, a prolific songwriter for multiple artists, including Bob Wills, Ray Charles, and Willie Nelson, called Mexia, Limestone County home. She was a charter member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame and the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Ms. Walker is pictured here in a mural painted by Calina Johnson located on McKinney at Commerce in Mexia.
